Since I started this site years ago, I have always required that those who want to post comments in the forum register in order to do so. That policy has worked well over the years, and continues today.
Registration requires a valid email address for authentication purposes, and provides a means of contact for the forum administrators or moderators should someone question the validity of claims made, or information posted, by another person. Your email address is not publicly available unless you choose to make it so.
Important note to Delta employees: It is not necessary to use your Delta email address when registering on this site. You may use your Yahoo!, AOL, or other non-Delta address. It is the policy of this forum to not block access by members using free or anonymous email services, however if any attempt to contact a registered user via email results in emails being returned, any and all posts made by the affected user(s) are subject to immediate and permanent removal from the forum.
I feel that general opinions addressed by polls and similar measurement tools do not require authentication; therefore NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO VOTE IN ANY PUBLIC POLL.
For the record, there is absolutely no requirement for anyone to register in order to view/read posts intended for the general public, or to participate in voting or view the results of any poll intended for the general public.
One final note: I recently noticed a lot of people are submitting registrations and are not confirming their email address after registering. Accounts that are registered, but never confirmed, will be automatically deleted at some point. Remember that you only need to register if you plan to post something in the forums. Viewing material intended for the general public does not require registration.
